My dear pal of over 45 years (I hate to say it is getting nigh well into the 50 year range!!), Willius, of Ronaydom, sent me a care package from the reunion, including the CD. As a result of going through it all and watching the CD, I am seriously kicking my own butt for allowing circumstances, of my own doing, from preventing my having attended it. As I absorbed it all I came to the stark realization that we truely did have a unique and very blessed group of people as classmates. I just hope so much that the good Lord sees fit to keep me here so I will be around for the 50th so that I will have the good fortune to be able to just be with some of those wonderful folks for a period of time. Going through the roster, even though I know that time takes it's toll on us mortal souls, I was really saddened to face the reality that, yes, we have lost some, and that, yes, we will loose some more before the 50th. Having read of the successes of the "mini" renunions held in the southern region several times, I was reflecting this evening as I ate and just wondered if a "mini" would be of benefit to those who live at a distance such that might cause them pause to attend the ones held southward, and would, if the idea held merit, down the line be glad to work toward holding one in the Chicago area.... if there were interest. Any thoughts? One more
passing comment. After watching the video, I came to the conclusion that
the mirror I shave in front of each morning is most definately an abberant
mirror. I had no idea I looked my age until I saw that video !!!!! (Yes,
I do have somewhat of a twisted sense of humor). |
